You’ve sat at this table for 3 hours, your opponent eyeing you with an evil grin spreading across their face with each passing minute. They’ve figured out your strategy and know with a single slip that you are under their thumb. The time has come. With shallow breath and sweating palm, you begin to wonder, “Will the choices I’ve made lead me to victory or have I doomed myself to walk the path of failure from the start?” Your hand hovers over the table for a moment before releasing the dice onto the board below, allowing fate to take its course…
Hi there, we are EbullientGeek! If you’re anything like us, you enjoy winning. Knowing that from the time you played your first piece you were destined to collect another tick mark in your column. And while a win might not always be in your future, the thrill of the hunt always brings you back.
So, why start blogging instead of spending our time chasing that game board high? While writing in this format is new to some of us, blogging gives us an outlet to express ourselves to an audience we would not regularly have access to. With that in mind, our goal is to become a de facto source for news on games, accessories, and the events that promote them.
It also gives us a chance to delve deeper, not only into the board gaming community at large, but with the community here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. As we grow, we want to tell the stories of not just the events that take place here, but the people behind them. We want to put the spotlight on those whose names you might have heard as well as up and comers who you need to keep an eye on. Because its not the games we play that make the community great, its the people that we play them with.
But in the end, we’re just doing this for us. Our love of writing is matched only by our love of board games so it only makes sense that the two would intermingle at some point. So, come join us and TheTableTopology, our partner in content providing on Twitch.tv, as we weave ourselves into the ever growing tapestry that is tabletop gaming.
